Participation of the Tajikistan delegation in the 7th "Water Week in India"

On November 1, 2022, the seventh India Water Week "7th India Water Week" on the theme "Water security for sustainable development based on equality" was launched in the city of Noida, India.

The President of India and other high-ranking officials of the country took part in the opening ceremony of the event and delivered speeches.

The delegation of the Republic of Tajikistan headed by the First Deputy Minister of Energy and Water Resources of the Republic of Tajikistan Shoimzoda Jamshed participated in the event.

The First Deputy Minister of Energy and Water Resources of the Republic of Tajikistan, during his speech at the plenary session, emphasized the progress and problems in the field of water and the important role of water in the sustainable development of society.

In particular, the First Deputy Minister emphasized the importance of the UN Conference on the midterm review of the International Decade of Action "Water for Sustainable Development, 2018-2028" in solving the issues and problems of the water sector.

On the margins of India Water Week (IWW), various activities were held in the form of master classes, panel sessions, special sessions and an exhibition of technologies, the latest developments and solutions available in the various areas related to water security. 

First Deputy minister, also took part in the opening ceremony of the Indian Water Week (IWW) exhibition and got acquainted with the achievements and potentials of the country in the field of water resources management.

On the sidelines of Indian Water Week (IWW), the First Deputy Minister Shoimzoda Jamshed met with the Minister of Water Resources of India Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and the Secretary-General of the International Commission on Irrigation and Drainage Ashwin Pandaya.

During the meetings, the ways and opportunities for strengthening beneficial cooperation in the field of water management were discussed.
