18th Meeting of the Chief Justices/ Chairpersons of the Supreme Courts of the Member States of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization

On March 11, 2023 under the chairmanship of the Republic of India the 18th Meeting of the Chief Justices/ Chairpersons of the Supreme Courts of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Member States held in Delhi.

The delegation of Tajikistan leaded by Mr. Shermuhammad Shohiyon, Chairman of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Tajikistan.

In accordance with the agenda, the following topics were discussed:

1) "Smart courts" and the future of the judiciary;

2) Promoting "Access to Justice": problems, initiatives and perspectives

3) Institutional problems facing the judiciary: delays, infrastructure, representation and publicity.

At the end of the Meeting, a Joint statement of the Chief Justices/ Chairpersons of the Supreme Courts was adopted, which focuses attention on continuing of the beneficial cooperation between the supreme courts of the member states in the process of judicial, as well as legal reform and development of the national legislation.
