On February 24-25, 2020, in New Delhi was held the 11th meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission of Tajikistan and India on trade-economic, scientific and technical cooperation. The Tajik delegation at this meeting was headed by the Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan Mr. Tojiddin Jurazoda and the Indian side, Commerce Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of India Mr. Anup Vadhavan.
At the meeting, the current state and development prospects of cooperation between the two countries in the areas of economy, trade, finance, investment, the private sector, industry and new technologies, transport, agriculture, energy, education, culture, tourism and other areas were discussed.
The Sides stressed to importance strengthening cooperation on mutual participation in exhibitions and fairs organized in Tajikistan and India, to strengthen further cooperation among business circles and organization of joint business missions, forums and bilateral meetings.
Within the framework of the visit, bilateral meetings were held between the Head of the delegation of Tajikistan and the Deputy Minister of Culture, Shri Yogendra Tripati, the Additional Secretary of the Ministry of External Affairs Shri Suresh K. Reddy and the President of the Indian Council of Cultural Relations (ICCR), Shri Vinay Sahasrabuddhe.
During the abovementioned meetings, the sides discussed and exchanged views ways to strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation between Tajikistan and India in various fields.
As a result of the event, on February 25, 2020 the Protocol of the 11th Session of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission between Tajikistan and India on economic, scientific and technical cooperation was signed.
