LUKMON BOBOKALONZODA - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary

H.E. Mr. Lukmon Bobokalonzoda with the degree of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan on September 29, 2020 has been appointed as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tajikistan to the Republic of India  and took charge on November 1, 2020.

He presented his credentials to the President of the Republic of India, His Excellency Mr. Ram Nath Kovind on November 20, 2020.

EDUCATION

1987 – 1992 – Polytechnical University of Tajikistan.

1998 – 2000 – Diplomatic Academy of Russian Federation.

Mr. Bobokalonzoda also attended diplomatic courses in the Institute of Foreign Services of the Republic of India (1996), the Netherlands Institute of International Relations Clingendael (2001), as well diplomatic and German language courses of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany (2002).

WORK EXPERIENCE

1994 - 1995 – Leading Specialist of the Ministry of Economy and Foreign Trade Relations of the Republic of Tajikistan.

1995 – 1998 – Second Secretary of the Consular Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan.

2000 – 2003 – First Secretary of the Department of American and European countries, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan.

2003 – 2004 – Second Secretary, Permanent Mission of the Republic of Tajikistan to the OSCE and UN organizations in Vienna.

2004 – 2006 – Chief of the UN Desk in the Department of International Organizations, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan.

2006 – 2010 – First Secretary of the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Tajikistan to the United Nations, New York.

2011 – 2012 – Deputy Head of the Department of international organizations, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan.

2012 – 2015 - Counsellor of the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Tajikistan to the United Nations, New York.

2016-2017 - Deputy Head of the Department of international organizations, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan.

2017- September 2020 – Head of the Department for External Economic Cooperation, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan.

Married, has three children.
