On March 17, 2022, at the UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, at the initiative of the permanent delegations of the countries celebrating Navruz (Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, India, Iran, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Turkmenistan, Turkey and Uzbekistan), a solemn festive event was held on the occasion International holiday Navruz.
Director-General of UNESCO Madame Audrey Azoulay, speaking at the beginning of holiday evening, heartfully congratulated all countries celebrating Navruz. The celebration was attended by the President of the General Conference of UNESCO H.E. Mr. Santiago Irazabal Murao, the Deputy Director-General of UNESCO H.E. Mr. Xing Qu, employees of the Secretariat and various structures of UNESCO, ambassadors accredited to the Organization and representatives of other international organizations headquartered in France, ministries and agencies of the host country, scientific and cultural circles, as well as Tajik diaspora living in France and friends of Tajikistan.
A cultural program was presented for the guests of the event – masters of art from a number of host countries performed national songs and dances.
The Embassy of Tajikistan in France, Permanent Delegation of the country to UNESCO at the reception arranged a traditional table with national Tajik dishes, and also displayed promotional materials and photographs about our beloved Motherland.
