On March 17, 2022, the Embassy of the Republic of Tajikistan in Turkiye, in cooperation with the Ministries of Industry and Technology of Tajikistan and Turkiye, organized a virtual webinar on “Opportunities for cooperation between Tajik and Turkish companies in the industrial sector and its subsectors” with the participation of relevant ministries and state agencies and trade organizations of the two countries, as well more than 40 Turkish industrial companies was involved to this meeting.
The meeting was opened with welcoming speeches by the Deputy Minister of Industry and New Technologies of the Republic of Tajikistan Farhod Bilolzoda, Deputy Minister of Industry and Technology of the Republic of Turkey Chetin Ali Donmez, Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade Abdurakhmon Abdurakhmonzoda, Ambassador of the Republic of Tajikistan to Turkiye Ashrafjon Gulov, Ambassador of the Republic of Turkiye to Tajikistan Emre Zeki Karagöl, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce of the city of Konya Selçuk Ozturk and Chairman of the Business Council of Tajikistan and Turkiye under the Council for Foreign Economic Relations of Turkiye (DEIK) Jahongir Saatchioglu and stressed the opportunities and importance of developing trade and economic cooperation between the two countries, including importance of sending Turkish business delegation to Tajikistan for the implementation of investment projects, based on the real potential of the economy and the conditions created by the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan.
The meeting was also attended by experts and representatives of the Turkish Agency for the Development and Support of Small and Medium Enterprises (KOSGEB), the Turkish Council for Foreign Economic Relations (DEIK) and responsible persons from the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, the State Committee for Investment and State Property Management, the Tax Committee under Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, presented to the attention of the participants interesting videos and presentations on the investment climate and business opportunities in the country, namely in FEZ.
Recall that this event was organized and held as part of the initiative of the Embassy of the Republic of Tajikistan in Turkiye to hold in the near future a series of virtual sectoral meetings between the private sector of Tajikistan and Turkey, in particular in the industrial sector.
