Celebration of International Navruz holiday in Ankara

On March 30, 2022, at the JW Marriott Hotel in Ankara, by the Embassy of the Republic of Tajikistan in the Republic of Turkey, a cultural event dedicated to the International Navruz holiday was held with great solemnity.

The event was also attended by the Minister of Industry and Technology of the Republic of Turkey - Co-Chair of the Tajik-Turkish Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation Mr. Mustafa Varank, Chairman of the Tajik-Turkish Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group Mr. Ahmet Uzer, representatives of ministries and state agencies, the diplomatic missions of Ankara, compatriots, Tajik students, businessmen and representatives Mass media.

At the opening of the event, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Tajikistan to the Republic of Turkey Ashrafjon Gulov congratulated the audience on the International Navruz holiday. He noted that Navruz removes hypocrisy, conflict, cruelty and ruthlessness from the hearts of people, increases the feeling of friendship, brotherhood, compassion, respect and fidelity between people and brings good news to everyone.

At the same time, it was noted that on the initiative of the leaders of the countries celebrating Navruz, including the Founder of Peace and National Unity - the Leader of the Nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, H.E. Emomali Rahmon, this ancient holiday became international and was included in the UNESCO Intangible Heritage List.

Mustafa Varank also congratulated participants on the Navruz holiday and noted that Tajikistan is a long-standing friend and important partner of Turkey, and with the will of the President of Turkey and his close friend President Emomali Rahmon, relations between the two countries have recently been developing in all directions.

The celebration of Navruz pleased the public with an exhibition of the collection of national clothes by designer Umed Kuchkaliev and the program of the dance group of the “Padida Theater”.

Needlework, paintings, national clothes, handmade musical instruments and other examples of Tajik crafts were presented at the event. Also, the participants were presented with videos about Tajikistan and national songs.

In one of the corners of the hall was placed a national trestle bed with a festive table and symbols of Navruz - "haft sin and haft shin", and those who wished were served festive dishes - pilaw, dalda and sumanak.

In order to present solar Tajikistan to the audience, national dried fruits were also exhibited in the hall.

The event was widely covered by the mass media of the host country.
