Celebration of the 34th anniversary of independence of Tajikistan in Tehran

On September 9, 2025, a solemn event dedicated to the 34th anniversary of Independence of Tajikistan was held at the Embassy of the Republic of Tajikistan in Tehran. This grand event was attended by Tajikistan national poets Farzona Khujandi and Ozarakhsh, as well as students, businessmen, and compatriots who live and work in Iran.

The Ambassador of Tajikistan to Iran Nizomiddin Zohidi in his congratulatory speech expressed his views on the achievements of independent Tajikistan over the past 34 years and he emphasized the great role of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon in strengthening the foundations of independence, forming national statehood, expanding the historical self-awareness of the Tajiks and increasing the reputation and influence of Tajikistan in the international arena as a country active in global issues of world.

Then, poets Farzona Khujandi, Ozarakhsh, and Shohmansuri Shohmirzo recited their poems in praise of Tajikistan, Independence and the Leader of the Nation, which was welcomed by the audience.

Also, an exhibition of the Leader of the Nation's books, handicrafts and national costumes was presented to the attention of the participants of the event.

At the end of the event, Iranian scholar Haniya Mughani, who took 2nd place in the international competition for the best article on the topic of "Glacier Protection" on the occasion of the declaration of 2025 as the Year of "Glacier Protection", was awarded the prize of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tajikistan.
