Joint Business Seminar of the Embassy of Tajikistan and UNIDO Office in Tokyo

On February 8, 2024 at the Embassy of the Republic of Tajikistan in Japan on the initiative of the Embassy of Tajikistan jointly with the UN Office for Investment and Technology Promotion for Industrial Development (ITPO Tokyo, UNIDO) held a business seminar on economic and investment opportunities of Tajikistan. Representatives of Japanese companies, businessmen and private investors took part in it, and as well as representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Executive Office of the State Authority of the Istaravshan City joined in the online format.

The event was opened by the Ambassador of the Republic of Tajikistan to Japan M. Jalolov and presented the economic and investment potential of our country, including the prospects of cooperation between the companies of Tajikistan and Japan, the possibility of implementing joint projects in the Republic of Tajikistan. Deputy Head of the Office for Investment and Technological Development Promotion of the UN Industrial Development Office in Tokyo Hideki Murakami also made an opening speech and expressed the readiness of his Office to support cooperation between Tajik and Japanese entrepreneurs.

Also at the business seminar, Mr. Koshi Akao, General Manager of International Devision, Cokey Systems Co., LTD and Mr. Kohe Katada, Member of the Supervisory Board of MDO "Humo" (Tajikistan), CFO of Gojo & Company, Inc. provided information about their businesses in Tajikistan, spoke about the attractiveness and interesting aspects of the activities of Japanese investors in Tajikistan.

At the end of the business seminar, the head of the mission answered the questions of the participants, and the guests were offered Tajik national cuisine.
