Tajikistan-Japan Business Forum

On May 17, 2024 on the initiative of the Embassy of the Republic of Tajikistan in Japan in cooperation with the Japan Association for Trade with Russia and CIS (ROTOBO), the State Committee for Investment and State Property Management of the Republic of Tajikistan, and the State Unitary Enterprise "Tajinvest" was held the online Business Forum on "Tajikistan and Japan - Vectors of Investment Cooperation in the Green Economy".

The Forum was attended by a wide range of participants, including leaders and officials of ministries and government agencies of the country, entrepreneurs and investors, leadership and representatives of leading Japanese and Tajik companies and enterprises - more than 200 people in total.

The event was opened by Mr. Koichi Suzuki, Executive Director of ROTOBO, and from the Tajik side by Mr. Khursheda Kadir, Deputy Chairman of the Committee for State Investments and State Property Management, as well as Mr. M. Jalolov, Head of Tajikistan's Diplomatic Mission in Japan. The leaderships of Tajinvest, the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Committee for Tourism Development under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Agency for Innovation and Digitalization under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Tajikistan also made presentations on the economic and investment opportunities of the Republic of Tajikistan, investment projects in the country within the framework of the Decarbonization Initiatives.

At the Business Forum, experts from the Japanese side presented their views on the ways of strengthening economic and investment cooperation between the two countries.

The purpose of the forum is to strengthen and develop economic and investment cooperation by creating an open dialog between businessmen and investors and on this basis to find new practical ways to create joint ventures.
