On July 8, 2025, in Tokyo, the next round of inter-ministerial political consultations between the Republic of Tajikistan and Japan was held. The delegation of the Republic of Tajikistan was led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Sharifzoda Farrukh Khomidin, while the Japanese side was headed by the Special Representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan for Central Asia, Mr. Masaki Ishikawa.
During the consultations, the parties thoroughly discussed the current state and prospects of Tajikistan–Japan bilateral cooperation in political, trade-economic, investment, cultural and humanitarian fields, as well as cooperation within the framework of the "Central Asia + Japan" Dialogue.
Two sides also exchanged views on pressing issues of the international and regional agenda.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their interest in strengthening cooperation and continuing constructive dialogue at all levels.
