Meeting with the Director of the FAO Liaison Office in Japan

On 12 June 2026, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tajikistan to Japan, Mr. Farhod Salim, met with Ms. Eriko Hibi, Director of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), Liaison Office in Japan.

During the meeting, the parties discussed issues related to strengthening cooperation in the fields of agriculture, food security, water resources management, climate change adaptation, and sustainable rural development. The fruitful cooperation between Tajikistan and FAO in implementing agricultural development programs and strengthening national capacities was highly appreciated.

The parties also exchanged views on Tajikistan’s preparations for GREEN×EXPO 2027 in Yokohama and discussed opportunities for cooperation in showcasing the country’s achievements in sustainable agriculture, glacier preservation, water resource management, and green economic development.
