Since 2005, in order to strengthen trade and economic cooperation, the Intergovernmental Commissions on Economic Cooperation have been regularly held between Tajikistan and Austria. The joint commissions are held once in two years in one of the capital cities, at the end of which the parties sign relevant protocols.
Thus, until now, 8 rounds of negotiations have been held between the countries, and the last meeting was held on March 2, 2023 in the city of Vienna.
On October 21, 2021, the 1st meeting of the Joint Commission of Tajikistan and Hungary on economic cooperation was held in Dushanbe, co-chaired by the Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade Abdurahmon Abdurahmonzoda and the Deputy Secretary of State of Hungary for the Development of Eastern Relations Andrash Barani. Representatives of ministries and relevant structures of both countries also took part in the meeting.
On November 24-25, 2022, the official delegation of the Republic of Tajikistan headed by the Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade Abdurahmon Abdurahmonzoda visited Hungary to participate in the second meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission of Tajikistan and Hungary on economic cooperation
