Since 2007 Tajikistan and Austria hold political consultations between the ministries of foreign affairs every two years.
On June 30, 2022, the tenth round of political meetings between the ministries of foreign affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Austria was held in Vienna. The delegations of the parties were led by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan, Farhod Salim, and the Head of the Department of Eastern Europe, South Caucasus, Central Asia, Eastern Neighborhood Policy of the European Union and Eastern Partnership of Central Europe of the Federal Ministry of European and Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Austria, Gerhard Sailler.
During the consultations, a wide range of issues of the development of bilateral relations between Tajikistan and Austria in the political, economic, cultural, educational and security spheres will be discussed.
Since 2016 political consultations between the ministries of foreign affairs of Tajikistan and Hungary take place very two years in the capitals of two countries.
On November 28, 2016, in Budapest, as part of the participation of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan in the Budapest Water Summit-2016, political consultations were held at the level of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan and Hungary. During the consultations, the parties discussed the pressing issues of the development of political cooperation and relations between Tajikistan and Hungary in the fields of economy and trade, investment, education and culture, as well as other areas of mutual concern. At the end of the political consultations, the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the two countries signed the Cooperation Program between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary for the period of 2017-2021.
Political consultations between the ministries of foreign affairs of Tajikistan and Romania have been held since 2018.
On the basis of beneficial relations, in April 2018, in order to further strengthen bilateral cooperation, political consultations were held between the Republic of Tajikistan and Romania (in Bucharest) with the participation of the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Muzaffar Huseynzoda and the Secretary of State of Romania Dan Nicolaescu.
The political consultations of the two countries are the main basis for the expansion of cooperation related to the establishment of a joint interstate commission on economic, commercial and scientific-technical cooperation, as well as the possibility of developing an agreement or an action plan reflecting the existing capabilities and priorities of both countries.
