International Conference "Central Asia - the Core of the SCO"

On June 19, 2025, the International Conference on the theme: "Central Asia - the core of the SCO” 25 years of cooperation for joint development" was held in Dushanbe, which was dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. The event was organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan and the SCO Friendship and Cooperation Center in Tajikistan.
In his speech, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Sirojiddin Mukhriddin noted the role and place of the country, in particular the Leader of the Nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the respected Emomali Rahmon, in the development of relations within Central Asia, the creation and formation of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
In the plenary session, the Chairman of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly Philemon Young, the SCO Secretary General Nurlan Ermekbaev, and other representatives of the United Nations and regional organizations made a video address.
The conference highlighted  the strategic goals of the Central Asian countries, which are the core of the SCO, and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, which complement each other and make a tangible contribution to strengthening stability and socio-economic development of the vast region of the Eurasian continent.
The conference became an important expert and diplomatic platform for discussing the role of Central Asia as the strategic core of the SCO, as well as the prospects for strengthening regional cooperation in the interests of peace, mutual understanding and sustainable development.
Laureates of international competitions and young performers of the Tajik National Conservatory named after Talabkhodzha Sattorov performed for the conference participants. 
The event was organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, and the SCO Friendship and Cooperation Center in Tajikistan. Heads of diplomatic missions from the Organization's member states, as well as Turkmenistan, also attended.
