Bilateral relations of Tajikistan with Austria
Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Austria were established on March 25, 1992.

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Austria to Tajikistan (with residence in Nur-Sultan) is Willy Kempel.
In 2011 the President of the Republic of Tajikistan H.E. Mr. Emomali Rahmon paid an official visit to Austria.
In 2013 the Federal President of the Republic of Austria H.E. Mr. Heinz Fischer paid an official visit to Tajikistan.
Political consultations and work of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on trade and economic issues as an important mechanism for strengthening multifaceted relations.
The inter-parliamentary ties between the two states at the stage of development.
The total volume of foreign trade of the Republic of Tajikistan with the Republic of Austria in 2022 amounted to 11.7 mil. US dollars. In 2023 from January to September amounted to 11.1 mil. US dollars (export - 418 thousand US dollars and import – 10.7 mil. US dollars).
Legal framework of bilateral relations consists of more than 14 intergovernmental and inter-ministerial documents.
On march 25,2022 the Founder of Peace and National Unity - Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, and the Federal President of the Republic of Austria, Alexander Van der Bellen, exchanged congratulatory telegrams on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
Since 1972 Dushanbe and Klagenfurt have been sister cities.
