Economic Forum on Cooperation with the Region of Central Asia

On 10 December 2020, the Economic Chambers of Austria (WKO) organized an Economic Forum on Cooperation with the Region of Central Asia in the virtual format. The event was attended by the representatives of the Economic Chambers of Austria and more than 50 Austrian industrial and commercial enterprises, as well as representatives of ministries and agencies from the countries of Central Asia.

At the session dedicated to Tajikistan the Ambassador of the Republic of Tajikistan to the Republic of Austria Mr. Idibek Kalandar delivered an introductory statement. At the session the representative of the Ministry of Economy and Trade  made presentation on "Prospects of the Development of Economic, Trade and Investment Cooperation between Tajikistan and Austria", the representative of the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies on "Prospects of Investment in Industry of the Republic of Tajikistan", and the representative of the Committee of Tourism Development under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan on "Tourism Opportunities of Tajikistan".

The Economic Forum has served as a platform for the promotion of investment opportunities in priority economic sectors of the Central Asian countries, including Tajikistan, as well as discussion of issues related to the enhancement of trade and economic ties of those counties with Austria.
