On 2nd August 2021 in Vienna the General Prosecutor of the Republic of Tajikistan Yusuf Rahmon has met Ghada Waly, the Executive Director of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).
During the meeting the parties have discussed the issues of cooperation between the Republic of Tajikistan and the UNODC in countering drug trafficking, terrorism and extremism, transnational organised crime, human trafficking, prevention of corruption and other economic crimes, improvement of the criminal justice system, as well as collaboration in the implementation of the Strategy on Countering Extremism and Terrorism in the Republic of Tajikistan for 2021-2025.
The parties have also exchanged views on the current situation in the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan and its possible impact to the security situation in Central Asian countries and beyond, as well as implementation of the UNODC programs and projects in Tajikistan and other issues of common interest.
