On September 27, 2022, in Washington DC, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Sirojiddin Muhriddin held a meeting with the Secretary of State of the United States of America Antony Blinken.
During the meeting, the parties discussed bilateral relations between Tajikistan and the United States in the political, economic, humanitarian spheres and security cooperation, and exchanged views on the use of broad opportunities for the development of mutually beneficial cooperation within the framework of the programs of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
At the meeting, the parties discussed the current situation in Afghanistan and noted the need to strengthen cooperation in the fight against modern challenges and threats, including terrorism, extremism, drug trafficking, and exchanged views on important regional and global issues. Also, the parties discussed the importance of the «C5+1» platform for the region and the current situation on the border of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan.
