Statement by the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Tajikistan to the UN at the UNGA meeting to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights

On 18 December 2018 the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Tajikistan to the United Nations H.E. Mr. Mahmadamin Mahmadaminov, in his capacity as the Chair of the Asia Pacific Group addressed the UN General Assembly meeting to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the 25th anniversary of the Vienna Declaration and Programme of Action.

In his statement on behalf of APG, the Permanent Representative of Tajikistan to the UN noted that both documents demonstrate the common aspirations and collective will of the international community to make the world a better place.

Ambassador Mahmadaminov also emphasized that the Universal Declaration of Human Rights embodies economic, social and cultural and civil and political rights based on the premise that different rights can only be successfully achieved in conjunction with one another.
