Participation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan in the Security Council debate on countering financing of terrorism

On 28 March 2019 in the UN Headquarters, New York Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Sirojiddin Muhriddin participated and addressed the United Nations Security Council open debate entitled “Combating the financing of terrorism”.

In his statement, the Foreign Minister of Tajikistan underlined the efforts of the Government of Tajikistan in countering the international terrorism, transnational organized crime, illicit drug trafficking and others. 

Minister Muhriddin noted that in Tajikistan there has been approved the National Concept on countering money-laundering and financing of terrorism for 2018-2025, and the Plan for its implementation adopted by the Decree of the President on 5 March 2018.

Foreign Minister of Tajikistan called upon the representatives of the UN Member-States to take an active part in the High-Level Conference on “International and Regional Cooperation on Countering Terrorism and its Financing Through Illicit Drug Trafficking and Organized Crime” to be held on 16-17 May 2019 in Dushanbe.
