UNESCO Forum of Ministers of Culture

On  November 19, 2019, in Paris UNESCO hosted the Forum of Ministers of Culture, a major event that brought together the representatives from 140 countries in 20 years.  Tajikistan was represented by the Minister of culture, Chairman of the National Commission for UNESCO Mr. Shamsiddin Orumbekzoda.

The main agenda of the Forum was culture and heritage, a renewable energy for dialogue and peace, culture at the heart of education, a fundamental dimension for human development and innovation, investing in culture and creativity for sustainable development and employment, culture in the public space, a driving force for urban and social transformation.

During the event Minister of Culture delivered a speech regarding achievements of the Republic of Tajikistan in the field of science, culture and education during the years of independence and cooperation with UNESCO. He also invited participants to the celebration of 5,500th anniversary of the city of Sarazm, which will be held in September 2020 in Tajikistan.
