Meeting of the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs with the UN Independent Expert

On 18 August 2026, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Idibek Kalandar has received the UN Independent Expert on the effects of foreign debt and other related international financial obligations of States on the full enjoyment of human rights Ms. Attiya Waris.

During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on sustainable development and responsible financing. They also emphasized the importance of international cooperation in ensuring sustainable development, improving the well-being of the population and protecting human rights. In this context, the Deputy Minister reaffirmed Tajikistan’s readiness for continued constructive cooperation with the United Nations on these issues.
